We are using ePo ver. 5.1.0 and agents version 4.8.0.1938.
I see that there are newer versions of the agent but they havent appeared in the software manager in ePO.
Can we (should we) upgrade to agent 5.0 and if yes then can someone please tell me how should we do that?
Regards.
The latest McAfee Agent 5.0.4 isn't compatible with ePO 5.1.0. Check this KB: McAfee KnowledgeBase - McAfee Agent 5.0.4 compatible products
when there is a agent installation package and the extension is available, you can download it from the McAfee download site or the Software Manager. Check in the installation package in to the master repository and install the new extension, then use the Product Deployment task to upgradeMcAfee Agent
software manager-> down load the required agents
software-> extension-> install extension-> select downloaded extensions
select systems-> client tasks-> action ->new task(create a new task by selecting product deployment from drop down list, use the drop-down lists in the Products and Components area to specify the version of McAfee Agent to deploy)-> save check the task and schedule or run it.
Thank you all.
I manually downloaded the Patch 8 update and checked it in ePO. After that I was able to update the current installations.
However I seem to have checked it in bot the current and in previous repository.
Now I want to install VSE on a computer running Server 2003 but I cant since patch 8 is not compatible with Server 2003.
How can I install an older version ov VSE (patch 7) on the Server 2003 computer?
Best regards.
You could re-download Patch 7 and then install that into your 'previous' or 'evaluation' repository forks...
Yes but the problem is I don't have Patch 7 as an option to download.
That does suck.
Used to be that McAfee had all the older patches remain on the site, IIRC.
Still, Patch 6 and 4 are there, but that resurrects the issues in those older patches.
Of the two, I would probably go /c P4 for 2003 boxes - P6 just had too many issues for my taste.
I know this is hindsight, and thus useless under this current situation - but I would recommend - at least going forward - retaining copies of the patch files outside of ePO - for just such occasions as this.
Are you in contact with any other (local to you) ePO admins? Maybe one of them has a copy of P7 safeguarded. Alternatively, perhaps McAfee could make one available to you via a service request.
