I have an ePO server that is at version 5.9.1 and I want to import policies from another ePO server running at 5.3.0 into it. When importing the policies it shows as successful in the audit log but there is no policy visible. The policies are for Endpoint & Virusscan. The servers are from different domains, different keys. We are consolidating offices. Any thoughts?
I assume you are a global administrator? Are there any errors in the orion log regarding the policy imports? Do you have the same or higher extension versions for the point products?

Yes I am a Global Admin. No error messages. When I check the audit log it shows successfully imported but it just does not show in the listing of policies. They are the same extensions versions.
Check KB89343 and run the query in the workaround section to see if this applies to you.

Actually I was incorrect they are different extenstions.
It is ok if they are different only if the server you are importing into has a higher extension build. Is the issue resolved, or do you still have the problem? If not resolved, did you look at the KB?

I also have same problem. I have 5.3.3, agent 5.0.6 and VSE 8.8 patch 4. I am trying to migrate it to a different DC on a new ePO 5.9.1. If I check in VSE patch 12, once I transfer my systems to new ePO, will it conflict since they have patch 4 VSE? Also the KB mentioned by you is not available.
Refer to KB88822.
We advise to migrate policies between same versions of epo and preferably same extension versions. Extension can be higher on receiving server, but the recommendation is same version. The reason for same server and extension versions is due to the differences in schema for the server and extensions that could impact the import. This is to prevent possible policy corruption or failed imports.

I want to make a correction - the kb I referenced has been updated. The epo server versions do NOT need to be the same version, but extensions should be the same. They can possibly be higher, but it is recommended to be the same version, then you can upgrade extensions after the import.
