Is it possible to test the Keystore password?

Jump to solution

Hi,

I'm preparing to carry out an upgrade on our ePO server.  During this preparation it occured to me I've not had to use the Keystore password since I set it up and so before I begin the upgrade I'd like to test it to make sure it's still valid.  Does anyone know of a quick way to do this?

I suppose i could just change the keystore password in settings, but then I'm not sure if this will have any knock on affects?

There is no way to test this password. If you are not sure then you can change it under server setting->Disaster Recovery->Edit->write new password and save it.

Hmmm, resetting it might be the best option, just in case another admin has changed it since I set it.

Is the Keystore password used for anything other than to secure the backup file?  i.e. changing it isn't going to stop some other process from working?

Make sure that when you reset the password to run another disaster recovery snapshot task, then backup the database so your db has the new password.
