Re: McAfee Agent 5.6 - Software Manager (ePO 5.9.1)

We don't log to c:\temp at all in any of our default configurations for all the products.  We log to windows\temp\mcafeelogs or programdata\mcafee.  For local installs we can also log to %temp%\mcafeelogs, which is the users temp profile that ran the install.

C:\temp\McAfeeLogs is equal to %temp%\McAfeeLogs. C:\Temp was only the half of the truth 😉

My wish was to change the path to a other location as %temp%\McAfeeLogs but it doesn#t work properly. I think i use the wrong switches or the spelling isn't right.
Best Regards
Olsen

Hello Olsen,

One person on McAfee's Technical Suppor tTeam told me to avoid using the Product Deployment option all together. He stated that "he wished that it would be removed from ePO because it is more problematic than it is worth."

I would avoid sing this option.

Cheers.

Yes, 5.6 hotfix RTW yesterday by the looks and now showing up in Software Manager.  Tried a couple of machines and it does indeed also seem to resolve my other issue with random endpoints failing to upgrade to the built in DXL module too! 🙂

If you're used to accessing agent logs via http, that's removed in the hotfix.

Make sure you have the new agent extension checked in, and enable remote access to logs in Agent General policy, then use Actions / Agent / "Single System Troubleshooting" to access logs.

Works a treat.
