Jump to solution

Hi,

In new EPO server 5.9.1 when we trying to check-in PA extension 6.2.2.148 or 6.2.2.161 its hsowing error as these extensions are incompatible with current version of EPO.However,when we check the mcafee document for product supported its showing as below

Policy Auditor (PA)6.2.2AUENGINEMETA6.2.2.148Benchmark Editor Content Distributor
6.2.2BenchmarkEditor6.2.2.148Benchmark Editor
6.2.2Findings6.2.2.148Findings
6.2.2PACore6.2.2.148PACore
6.2.2PARollup6.2.2.148PARollup
6.2.2PolicyAuditor6.2.2.148Policy Auditor

The product compatibility list is upto date and enabled.Even we tried to disable it and import manually xml file for product compatiiblity list but still giving same error.

Any idea why we are seeing this error evne when its compatible with new version of EPO.

Hi @cdinet,

Thanks for the info.When I got the errro I checked in 6.4 extension to avoid any further issue.Actually when I checked few weeks ago compatible PA version was 6.2.2.148 and I was installing extension above to that version.Maybe the compatibility list was different at that time. But it’s ok now for me as I am now using extension 6.4

Hi haaris,

Can you call support please and ask the PA team to review the PA details in the 'ProductCompatibilityList.xml', it shows a minimum requirement for a higher build than the one being offered to ePO.

From the 'ProductCompatibilityList.xml'.

<extension name="PolicyAuditor" display="Policy Auditor">
<version ver="[1.0,6.2.0.188)">
<epoInfo ver="[5.0.0,5.9.1)" needs="6.2.0.188">block</epoInfo>
<epoInfo ver="[5.9.1,5.10.0)" needs="6.2.2.171">block</epoInfo>
<epoInfo ver="[5.10.0,)" needs="6.4.0.173">block</epoInfo>
</version>

fyi:
The file can be viewed/collected from here:

ProductCompatibilityList.xml

Please refer to KB72961

  PA 6.4.2 PA 6.4.1 PA 6.4 PA 6.3 PA 6.2.2 PA 6.2
PA 6.0
ePO 5.10.x Yes Yes Yes No No No No
ePO 5.9.x Yes Yes Yes Yes 2 Yes 23 No No
ePO 5.3.x Yes Yes Yes Yes 1 Yes 1 Yes No
ePO 5.2.x No No No No No Yes No
ePO 5.1.x No No No No No Yes No

1 Minimum ePO version support for PA 6.2.2 is 5.3.1 Build 188.
2 IMPORTANT: An upgrade to ePO 5.9 requires that older versions of the PA extension be uninstalled before the upgrade. If you upgrade from ePO 5.3.1, you can upgrade to PA 6.2.2 before the ePO upgrade, instead of uninstalling the old version.
After the upgrade to ePO 5.9 is complete, install Policy Auditor 6.2.2.

3 Minimum version of PA required for ePO 5.9.1 is 6.2.2 build 171.
