Hi !
Actually we have installed ePO 5.1.3 and we need to install into a New Server ePo 5.10 but with the same configuration as we have it on the old server. After this we will use only the new Server with the New Installation.
Could you suggest me which is on of the above Method to follow or if you can suggest me any other Method..
Method 1:
-At the New Server we should install ePo 5.1.3 (the same version that we have on the working server)
-Backup the Configuration at the working machine and Restore it into the New Server
-Upgrade the New Server from ePO 5.1.3-> ePO 5.3.2 and from 5.3.2 ->5.9 and at the end form 5.9->5.10
-Shut down the old Server and rename the New machine exactly as it was the Old server with the Same Ip address and also transferring the License
Method 2:
-Install TRIAL into the new Server ePO 5.10
-Try to Backup the Configuration from old server with ePO 5.1.3 and Restore it into the New Server with ePO 5.10 (But i don't know if the Backup-Restore will work with 2 different versions of ePO )
-Rename the New Machine exactly as it is the old one with the same IP address and also transferring the License

Hi ledi79,
Upgrading EPO from 5.1.3 is a little bit cumbersome process. You can directly upgrade to ePO 5.10 instead of going through incremental upgrades. However i would like to know the below details so that we can see how efficiently you can achieve this.
How many clients are you managing :
What are the Products are you using.
SQL version
And yes you can not restore EPO 5.1.3 files into EPO 5.10 which will not work.

Hello @ledi79
That's nice.
Once your new epo with new db is ready, You can perform the system transfer and policy transfer as well.
System Transfer KB79283
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB79283
Policy KB88822
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB88822
If you want to do everything from the scratch in that case after installing the new ePO 5.10 please deploy the McAfee Agent to the client machine and assign the policies from the scratch.
Also while installing the ePO please follow the below KB articles:
https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB91296
Also you can run the IIS Crypto for ciphers.

Hi !
First of all let me thank you for the Reply.
Our intention is to install the latest version of McAfee in a New Server with OS:2019. After this we will configure it with the same policies as the current with ePO 5.1.3
We have around 500 devices connected .
Below we can find the versions that we use :
OS: Windows Server 2008 ; SQL Server 2008
McAfee Agent 5 and 5.5
VirusScan 8.8, Policy Auditor 6.2
Hello @ledi79
Thanks for your response.
In order to proceed with the upgrade please refer the below KB articles:
Supported platforms for ePolicy Orchestrator
I would like to inform you that OS 2008 is not supported with the ePO 5.10 you will get all the information in above mentioned KB article.
We can initiate the upgrade from 5.1.3 to 5.10 once the every thing is compatible.

My intention is to install the latest version of McAfee into a new Server with os:2019 with the version compatible of SQL .
I'll configure exactly the latest ePo with the Policies that i have on my existing ePO 5.1.3 version and after this , i'll not use anymore the old server with the old version of ePo .

Since your intention is to move to the latest product, you can perform system transfer between EPO 5.1.3 to 5.10.
Configure EPO 5.10 on Server 2019. Then transfer systems batch wise to new EPO 5.10.
