New policies not available to Assign to System tree

Jump to solution

I am migrating from epo 5.3 to epo 5.10. the policies and their assignments that I exported/imported are there and assigned. However, I can not seem to get any new policies assigned to the My Organization in the System Tree....or anywhere in the System Tree.  Ive created policies with the Endpoint Upgrade assistant and manually created some too.  The policies show in the Catalog but no assignments show and I cant seem to find how to get them assigned to the system tree.  In System Tree only the already assigned policies are listed. Those policies consist of the Default ones and the imported ones....no new ones

EPO 5.10

Ive tried Agent policies and Endpoint Security policies.

Thanks for any help

I dont think that applies. Its a new install of epo 5.10 and they say in the KB that 5.10 fixed the issue.  And policies I just created on new extensions are not available to assign.

I just stumbled on the solution I think.  I have to Break Inheritance on the Assignment of the Default Policy and thats where I can choose to assign the New one.

Did you click on edit assignment to the right of the page to change the policies?  You may have to click on break inheritance, depending on where you are in the system tree.

Second question - are you logged in as a global admin or a user under a permission set?  If permission set, perhaps edit policy assignments isn't given as a permission.

The only policies on the screen at that point are the ones already assigned.  I can click on Edit Assignment for those policies, but the new policies arent in that list so I dont have that option.

I am logged in as admin

Thanks

Check KB85924 to see if that applies.  There are some scripts in that kb to check things over.

If that doesn't apply, please post a screenshot of what is showing in policy catalog and then the drop down lists under edit assignment showing the missing policy.

I dont have a login for the business portal, so I cant get to that kb right now. I asked some of the corporate team who support it if I can get access.
