OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

I am seeing an error in the Orion.log on my EPO server

server.OrionLoginModule - Failed to login due to invalid password for user: system_OurAgentHandler

Where do I go to fix the system_OurAgentHandler account password?

Re: OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

That is a common log message that can be ignored.  You would only be concerned with valid accounts, as the system computer account has no password to be concerned with.

Re: OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

seems like there are a lot of error messages in the logs to be ignored.  why are they even there to begin with?

Re: OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

Good question that we have been asking for years.  I will bring it up on a call today I have with dev.

Re: OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

Ok, interesting discussion with dev on this.  When apache starts, it inserts a temp user/password for system_servername (unique each start of services) in user table to authenticate with tomcat.  It appears to be a timing issue where apache is trying to authenticate before that insert, hence the error message.  If you look at the server log on start of services, you will see it attempting to reach the epo server (this applies to epo itself or agent handler), and the message says it will try 12 times.

So, this can be ignored.  Good news is, the ones I talked with are interested in trying to see if they can work out that timing issue so this doesn't generate errors.  So perhaps some update down the line might not show that error, at least not quite so frequently.

Re: OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

Thanks for the update.  Oddly enough, my ticket with mcafee is getting escalated up dues to apache crashing every few minutes so this is out of my hands as to the quick fix.

Re: OrionLoginModule - Failed to login

Is it on the agent handler or epo itself that apache is crashing?  If you have installed an update or hotfix, make sure it is also applied on any agent handlers if required by that hotfix.  5.10 updates should always be installed also on ah's.  If not, that can also cause those type crashes.
