Unable to configure email server for O365

We have EPO 5.10.0. While configuring Email Server for O365, the screen asks for the SMTP server with the port number, the account and the credentials for the account as well. However, when we try to send a test email, it throws an error "The message could not be sent because of an unexpected error". Orion logs mention, Caused by: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 530 5.7.57 SMTP; Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail during MAIL FROM [BMXPR01CA0092.INDPRD01.PROD.OUTLOOK.COM] • Is it that McAfee cannot send emails to any other port apart from Port 25 because all the mentioned providers run on custom ports with TLS ? • I have another application running in the same environment that has been able to send emails to O365 successfully. • The error logs mention that the Client was not authenticated to send anonymous mail however I have entered the credentials. • Is the app not using the credentials entered ? • Is the app not using TLS authentication ? • A telnet request from the server to this address successfully connects; then how do we claim that O365 is not listening on SMTP port.

When is it planned to be fixed ?

Other products like a blat or basic Linux commands can also send emails to O365.

I have no idea, but I can check with dev on a call I have with them, but that won't be till Wednesday.

This will require a feature modification request or idea - see KB60021 for how to submit that.  At the moment, there aren't any plans, but mvision epo will eventually have tls email capabilities.  But for on-prem epo, currently only smtp servers non-tls are supported.
