Update Mastery Repository task fails

I've built a new 5.10 ePO server and everything seems to be working OK, except I can run the "Update Master Repository" server task.

It fails with "Failed to download file Current\SUPPCLNT1000\ServicePack\0409\MER.exe from site update.nai.com:80, error code 403 ( The process is not in background processing mode. )"

It doesn't appear to be a proxy issue, becuase I can use the Software Catalog to download and check in pages and extensions OK.

I've tried to rebuild the Master Repository using KB53736, but that didn't seem to help.

Any suggestions?

Re: Update Mastery Repository task fails

Update: If select which packages the update task pulls down and de-select the MER package, it works OK.

Re: Update Mastery Repository task fails

I think I fixed it.
I manually downloaded and checked in the MER package and the latest AMCore package. that worked OK.
Now the Update Master Repository task runs OK.

Re: Update Mastery Repository task fails

@malcolmchalmers I am happy that you managed to resolve the issue by manually downloading MER. This issue ideally occors due to Proxy. However, if the proxy is working fine, then the other way is to rebuild the master repository.

In your case, the issue is with MER download. Any ways thanks for sharing your resolution.

Cheers!!!!!

Re: Update Mastery Repository task fails

Make sure to also download the mer content package on the mer download site.  You can also keep that de-selected in the pull task settings to not try to pull it.

Re: Update Mastery Repository task fails

Hello,

It is not so often but sometimes the updatecontent locations do not work properly and as you found out yourself, it is best to download and check in packages one by one for failing products. You might need a full Master Repository rebuild in particular cases.
