There were some updates for the McAfee agent. I'm not sure if I checked them in correctly or not. (Told to do them all into the current branch?) It shows that the newest version is checked in but when I do an update, only the (Embedded Credentials) is listed. I don't remember if that was what we used before or not? Why is only Embedded Credentials listed? what is the difference?

Embedded Credatial package allow to input credentails of user with admin rights and wrap in inside Agent Pakage to be able (and install) under user account with no admin rights.

We have not needed this before, is this something we need now?
How do we get the non Embedded Credentials version to show up?
Hello sw41,
There are two available McAfee Agents packages you can obtain from the grant site or the software manager. Version one is the typically used version for windows called Windows (RTW) or Released to World. The second version is for those companies that want to embed credentials into the McAfee Agent. The history on this functionality is interesting. When ePO first came out back in the late 90's, they offered the agent that could embed credentials. They thought about that long and hard and then discontinued it. After a period of time passed it popped back up on everyone's radar screen again likely because there were some customer who had a need for it. You can only check into ePO one of the two packages but not both. If you look at the software manager it educates you to the fact that you can only use one or the other. The long answer to your question is no you don't need to use the embedded, just check in the no-embedded version.
Have fun!
Jay
