Whats the potential risk of a failed endpoint system transfer from old ePO to new ePO ?

Jump to solution

I need to put the risk level in a "Request for Change" document. Hence the query.

Do the endpoint agents report back to old ePO in this case, if they fail to transfer to new ePO?

Not necessarily.  If the system got the transfer request and has a new sitelist, but fails to connect to new epo for some reason, it won't connect to either.  There are several precautions you can take.

1. export system tree on old server before transfers are started so you have documentation of list of systems.  Once transfers have completed, export system tree on new server and run comparison for missing systems (or a query for system names would also have same function).

2.  For any missing systems, you would then need to redeploy agent from new server.

3.  You can use eedk to wrap agent from new server and check it into old and deploy to your systems instead of transferring them.  Sometimes this is a little more efficient.
