Hi All,
I have come back from a week of training to find the SQL database full, size temporarily increases for continued operation.
Culprit seems to be dbo.orionsnapshot table which has grown to 40GB in size and 40Gb reserverd. Nothing has change but i am unable to see how this data is purged.
I cannot see a server task option available to purge this table and only able to amend disaster recovery password, no other settings.
How do i go around purging this data, it has never been this big before so can't imagine it needs to be right now. Will something break if purged?
Thanks
Aj
The size of that table is directly related to the number of extensions you have checked in as well as software into the master repository. You might want to check the size of those directories on the epo server. As for purging that info, you can just run delete from otionsnapshot, but that is not really recommended. That snapshot contains a backup of your server data so if you ever need to restore epo for any failure or anything, you can restore from snapshot quicker and easier than the manual kb66616 method. You would be better off planning for that space to be needed on the sql server.

Hi CDI,
Thanks for the response. The main query i have is what has caused this to grow so much. This has never been more than 8-10GB in size and if anything software / extensions have been removed not added.
Just concerning is seems to have grown 3 times it's normal size in 7 days.
Thanks
Aj
If you look at the contents of the orionsnapshot table, you might be able to see where the size is from. Has anything at all changed on the epo server in that time? Has the snapshot task been running successfully previously? What size is the server\extensions folder as well as the db\software directory?

Hi CDI,
Nothing that i am aware of has change, snapshot has been running daily for as long as the logs show me. Extensions and software folder together are no more than 6GB.
Has grown by another 5GB over night and run out of space again.
Think i am going to raise a ticket with support.
Thanks
Aj
Interestingly i have just disabled the snapshot task to stop it running again and this has instantly dropped the dbo table to 5gb in size, weird.
Have raised a support call so will see what they say and will update this so other people can see how to rectify.
