DLP Help Desk.JPG

We are having issue on define the permission sets on ePO so that our support guy does able to generate the MCP bypass key using the MCP Help Desk modules (we define a limited permission for support person). This features does working on ePO 5.3 but seem the ePO 5.9, the MCP Help Desk are under Configuration instead and there don't see to be permission set features available for this MCP Help Desk Anyone have this issue or resolution?

There is DLP Help Desk action but no MCP Help Desk.

To answer your question in reverse order...

A newer extension will 'upgrade' a previous edition as a rule.

As extensions drive how and what a product does within the estate and how a product is prevented in side is ePO you can speak with the DLP/MCP team for more details from the official source.

Hi User30176445,
I'm not a DLP/MCP engineer, so I spoke with the DLP/MCP team about this for you!

Firstly this is not an issue with ePO, ePO is fine and working as expected here!
Its a change in design and product behaviour with DLP/MCP extensions and how they interact with each other.

Please review PD24537 for more information!!!

Thanks much Hawkmoon,

Yes, there is no issue on ePO and working fine as expected. We just want to set the permission for the support team to have this MCP/DLP Help Desk for workaround. There is no issue on DLP Help Desk which can be granted, but for MCP Help Desk, there is no option on the permission set to grant.

Had checked the PD24537, it's looks good, may I know if I shall contact McAfee support for this helpdesk tools? Currently both DLP and MCP helpdesk are available, the only issue is permission set unable to grant for MCP Help Desk. So if I get this extension to be install, would it overwrite the existing extension?

Thanks. 🙂

It isn't labeled specifically mcp help deak.  Look under "Help Desk Actions" section in the desired permission set.  You should see DLP actions as well as mcp actions.

Hi cdnet,

I do not see any "Help Desk Actions" on the permission sets. Is there a specific extension that needs to be installed for this to show?

I am only able to see "DLP Help Desk Actions:" but there is no "Help Desk Actions".

Do you have the McAfee client proxy extension checked in?

I finally found it!  Took me a while.  In software manager, go to dlp 11.0 - there is an extension named mcafee data loss prevention help desk tool - help versin 2.0.0.130.  That will add the Help Desk Actions section in the permission set where you will find MCP actions.
