ePO Server Http 500 error after installing update 14

Hi All,

After installing update 14 for ePO 5.10 I can't access the web console. I get server error 500. The Orion.log file is showing:

Initialization of plugin core failed

Error creating bean with name 'core.auth.ntlm.authenticatorFactory'

Error creating bean with name 'com.mcafee.orion.core.auth.nt.SmbjAuthenticator...

failed to instantiate [com.mcafee.orion.core.auth.nt.SmbjAuthenticator]

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/hierynomus/smbj/common/SMBApiException

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com/hierynomus/smbj/common/SMBApiException

Any help on these errors please?

Thanks.

Re: ePO Server Http 500 error after installing update 14

We would need to see more of the log than that.  I would suggest opening a ticket so we can look into it.  You can also check kb91104, kb81737.  What update did you update from?  CU 14 changed some of the tls requirements, so you might want to run IISCrypto (just a fancy registry editor for tls settings), choose best practices, then reboot - on both the epo and sql servers.

Re: ePO Server Http 500 error after installing update 14

Hi,

Thanks for your response, I had run through kb81737 before posting... I've come across kb91104 before but only when trying to check in a large package like MSME... I can't even access core/config in the current state.

We are upgrading from 5.10 LR5 which was working  fine... tried rolling back and re-applying but we get the same error. I will take a look at the TLS settings and see if they differ from another working server.

Thanks,

LR5 is just the base install package, were there any other updates applied prior to 14?

No, we upgraded from 5.3 to 5.10 LR5 then migrated the certificates updated all the Agents to latest version then applied update 14.

Oh, ok.  Then definitely run IISCrypto.  It is a free download and is just a standalone utility.
