ePo 3.6.1 Upgrade to 4.0 adding a second server

We have 1 server that handles both the database and ePo Orchestrator. Decided to add a second box to split the database and ePo front end due to node count exceeding 4800 and will be in the 5000 range soon.

Question is, how do i go about upgrading to ePo 4.0 if i add a second box as the front-end and use the original server as the database-backend? Looked at the instructions but cannot figure it out, i know how to do it from the initial install but not the upgrading process. Should i just stop services from the original server and do an upgrade install from the second server and point the database to the original one?
