epo upgrade - couple of other questions

1. 5.9 ePO - need assistance with updating this to latest 2. wondering if there is a way to alter how often vse scans computers (if it doesn't already) 3. wondering if there is any sort of data loss prevention (remote wipe, for example) we can do on computers/mobile devices with our current licensing. if not, what product would we have to purchase that does that?

"if there is any sort of data loss prevention..."

DLP covers a wide area of protection strategies so this may not meet your specific needs but it is what we do for laptops to protect data once it leaves the premesis.  We encypt laptops with Bitlocker and use McAfee Management of Native Encryption (MNE) to manage policies around encryption and to store the recovery key.  If a laptop is stolen we can pull a complience report from ePO to demonstrate to the legal department the device was encrypted and thus no data exposure.  The encryption function essentially is the same as your "remote wipe" scenario.  You could also use this method for drive disposal, just delete the keys out of ePO and the data is unrecoverable.  But I think MNE is an add-on so you may not have access to it with your license.

Re: epo upgrade - couple of other questions

1.  For upgrading epo, follow the install guide, review kb71825 first, and run the pre installation auditor too.

2.  For VSE scanning that is a task that you can set up in epo and schedule it as desired.  You can look at the VSE product and/or best practices guildes for info on that as well as epo product guide for setting up tasks.

3.  For dlp, you might want to post on the dlp forum, they can give you better info on that since they are more familiar with the options.
