How to Wipe Old Web Gateway

Jump to solution

Hello,

I am getting rid of two physical web gateways and I need to wipe them completely in order to do so. Any articles to wipe them and prepare them to be decommissioned? The only one I found was this one: https://kcm.trellix.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB89212&locale=en_US
And all it is is factory resetting the RMM. That doesn't reset the whole box.

Hello @User65817747

AFAIK there is no factory reset function on Web Gateway. You can use any suitable linux live CD to securely wipe all data. It depends on requirements/policy. Some policies require physically destroying HDs 🙂

Is there documentation on where to find these hard drives in the web gateways and how many hard drives are in each web gateway?

the are two SSD drives in RAID-1 (mirroring - so you'll see only one disk), see attached screenshot.
